Feline Creative Sketch #1 (FCsketch001)

Hi everyone! I'm back with another cute puppy dog card.  I've been shopping online and got some fun new goodies to play with.   The film strip is from My Favorite Things as is the die cut bone.

My card base is light blue cardstock layered with dark brown cardstock and paw print patterned paper. I wrapped white crochet thread around the patterned paper and dark brown cardstock before adhering to the card base. Next I die cut the film strip using brown cardstock and added a strip of white cardstock behind it stamped with smaller paw prints.

The larger paw print was stamped on white cardstock using vintage photo distress ink and fussy cut with my scissors. The bone was die cut from dark brown cardstock. Around the edges of the patterned paper and image I distressed using vintage photo distress ink.

I really like this card design and decided to start a collection of favorite sketches. When I'm inspired by a sketch or card I like to doodle on a small white board so I'm able to carry my ideas from the computer to my craft room. After making this card I drew the sketch on my small white board so I could take a photo of it to share. I'll also add a link to my sketches at the top of my blog. If you are inspired by any of my sketches please leave a link to your project so I'm able to check it out.  I've a couple other projects in mind inspired by this same sketch.

50 Years Album - Page 6

Hi everyone! Today I've another layout to share. The photo is of my in-laws standing next to the banner we had made special for the occasion. As I'm looking at the layout I just realized how well the yellow patterned paper blends with the carpet in the photo. I'm such a genius, LOL!

50 Years Album - Page 5

Hi everyone! Today I've more of a vintage looking layout to share. If you recall on the table was an original photo of the wedding party. I took a close up picture of the photo in the frame and cropped it so I got just the members of the wedding party in the photo. The quality of the photo is not great but it worked.

The theme of this layout is then and now. All the members of the wedding party came to the open house. I know, how cool is that!  The wedding party lined up in the same order as they were in the original photo so we took a now photo. What an amazing photo!!!

To give a more vintage feel to the layout I added some black photo corners, the black strip with the numbers to represent time passing, some notebook paper and the title using the same gold shimmer cardstock I used on the invitations.

Thanks for stopping by... hope you have a purr-fect day!

50 Years Album - Page 4

Hi everyone! I'm popping in mid week to share this creative layout. The table was placed by the entrance and is where family and friends signed the guestbook. On the table from left to right are a small bouquet of flowers, photo frames including a photo of the wedding party, a copy of the wedding program, the guestbook and a box for cards.

On my layout I added a strip of photos to enlarge the items on the table. The handsome man signing the guestbook is my hubby!

Thanks for stopping by... hope you have a purr-fect day!

Playful Puppy - Card #1

Hi everyone!  It's been a GREAT weekend!  I've enjoyed lots of crafty time in my room.  I'm working on making a set of cards with this playful puppy digital stamp for the local humane society.  We took mom and the foster kittens back to the humane society last weekend and suddenly I have lots of time on my hands again.

This is the first card in the set.  The image was printed on white cardstock and colored in using the following copic markers:

BONE/GROUND: E40, E42, E43, E44
DOG: E30, E33, E35, E37, E39
SHADOW: B0000, BOO

I tried something I've never done before with this image.  I colored the image then scanned the image and uploaded it to photo editing software then reprinted multiples of the image. This allowed me to make multiples of the card for the humane society in less time.  The quality of the image is not as great as the original but is still very nice.

I finished all the layouts in the 50 years album but haven't had a chance to take photos of them as it's been cloudy and raining here.  I'll share those as soon as I'm able to get photos taken.

Thanks for stopping by... hope you have a purr-fect day!
