Happy Harmony

It was really windy and rained here most of the weekend so I was able to get a lot of time in my craft room. I made 25 of this card for Operation Write Home. The card base is Always Artichoke cardstock layered with a slightly smaller piece of PTI White then strips of Subtle Stripe and Hazy Mauve patterned paper. I cut the edge of the Hazy Mauve patterned paper with a Fiskars Decorative Edge Scissors before attaching to the PTI White and I paper pierced the edges of the patterned paper before attached it to the card base.

The image was stamped in Close To Cocoa on paper pierced PTI White using the Happy Harmony stamp set and layered on to a slightly larger piece of Always Artichoke cardstock. The sentiment was stamped in Always Artichoke over the image using the Great Friend stamp set. Next I wrapped White Grosgrain Ribbon around the card base and tied a knot in front. To finish off the card I added a couple Medium Copper Brads.

Hope you have a great week!

Miss You!

After working on Halloween cards the last couple of weeks I needed a little help switching gears again. This card is inspired by the Paper Pretties Sketch (PWC50).

The card base is Regal Rose layered with a slightly smaller piece of So Saffron cardstock. To create a soft background I embossed the So Saffron cardstock in my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots Embossing Folder.  Next I cut a strip of Always Artichoke cardstock and punched both sides using the Eyelet Border Punch before adhering to the card base.

The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on paper pierced Whisper White using the Angels In A Vase stamp and colored in using Stampin' Write Markers then was layered on to a slightly larger piece of Regal Rose cardstock and attached to the card base using Scotch Foam Mounting Tape.

I made a bow with White Organdy Ribbon and attached it to the image using a glue dot. The MISS YOU! sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Whisper White and punched out using the Word Window Punch. To finish off the card I added some pink Kaiser Rhinestones.

Hope you have a great day!

Creepy Spider

This card was loads of fun because I got to play with some cool new tools I got. The card base is Whisper White layered with a slightly smaller piece of DCWV Purple Cardstock then Wicked Dots patterned paper from the AdornIt Hocus Pocus Collection. Next I attached a strip of paper pierced Purple Cardstock in the center of the card base.

Using my Sizzix Sidekick I die cut four black felt photo corners and attached one in each corner of the card base. The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Whisper White using my new Punchy Potions stamp set from Taylored Expressions and was colored in using Tangerine Tango Ink and an aqua painter. I cut the image out using my first set of Nestibilites (Classic Ovals Large) and attached it to the card base with Scotch Foam Mounting Tape. To finish off the card I added a creepy looking Black Felt Spider on the cob web.

Hope you have a fantastic day!

Scaredy Cat

I really like this patterned paper but struggled for a while trying to figure out what to do with it. Once I pulled out this stamp set though it felt like everything finally fell into place.

The card base is Basic Black layered with a slightly smaller piece of Only Orange cardstock then a strip of Bo-Bunny Fright Night Words patterned paper. The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI White using the Autumn Harvest stamp set then colored in using the Only Orange Watercolor Wonder Crayon and an Aqua Painter. The color didn't seem quite vibrant enough so I added some Only Orange chalk and the image popped right off the page. The texure also looks more like that of a true pumpkin.

I punched the corners of the PTI White cardstock using the Ticket Corner Punch then layered it on to a slightly larger piece of Basic Black cardstock. I added a small silver brad in each corner then attached it to the card base using Scotch Foam Mounting Tape. The sentiment was stamped in Basic Black on Green Galore cardstock then punched out using the Modern Label Punch. To finish off the card I added a Black Felt Scaredy Cat.

Thanks for stopping by!

Haunted Halloween

I've been finding a lot of fun Halloween products I couldn't resist so I'm working on some spooky Halloween cards for Operation Write Home. This card was inspired by a piece of scrap paper from last year's stash. I only had enough though to make one card so I went on a mad hunt for more. To my disappointment I couldn't find the same pattern but to my delight I did find this one which was similiar.

The card base is Basic Black layered with a slightly smaller piece of Deep Orange Dream cardstock. I cut the right edge of the Deep Orange Dream cardstock with the Fiskars Deckle Paper Edgers Scissors. Next I adhered three small strips of Bo-Bunny Boo Crew Stripe patterned paper.

The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on paper pierced PTI White using the House Of Haunts stamp set then layered on to a slightly larger piece of Dark Lovely Lilac then Basic Black cardstock. I wrapped Black Grosgrain Ribbon around the card base and tied a knot in front. To finish off the card I added a couple small black brads.

Hope you have a nice day!

Elegant Beauty

I made this card with the last of the My Minds Eye patterned paper. I've been wanting to use this edge punch so I decided to go with an elegant look for this card. The punch was a little hard to push through the cardstock but so worth the effort.

As for the card details... the card base is a half sheet of Certainly Celery cardstock folded in half. Next I attached a strip of Cool Caribbean cardstock that was punched on one side with the EK Success Fleur De Lis Edger Punch. I wrapped grosgrain ribbon around the strip of My Minds Eye 29th Street Market patterned paper before adhering it to the card base. Then I made a bow with the same ribbon and attached it on top using a glue dot.

The image was stamped in Basic Brown on paper pierced Whisper White using the Natural Beauty stamp set and colored in using Tombow and Stampin' Write Markers then layered on to a slightly larger piece of Cool Caribbean cardstock.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Artistic Beauty

This is another card I made for Operation Write Home. Still using the same supplies. Once I pull out patterned paper from my stash I try to make as many cards as possible otherwise I end up with scraps everywhere. To change things up a bit though I chose a different layout and went with more of an artistic feel.

My card base is a half sheet of Cool Caribbean cardstock folded in half. I cut a strip of My Minds Eye 29th Street Market patterned paper and adhered it to a piece of Kraft cardstock then paper pierced around all the edges before attaching it to the card base.

The image was stamped in Basic Brown on paper pierced Whisper White using the Natural Beauty stamp set and colored in using Tombow and Stampin' Write Markers then attached to a strip of Certainly Celery cardstock. I wrapped the American Crafts Ribbon around the Certainly Celery cardstock before attaching it to the card base. To finish off the card I added three clear buttons embellished with White DMC.

Hope you have a great day!

Natural Beauty

Wahoo, my first blog post!!! I'm so excited and can't believe the fun I'm having! Not only is it Labor Day which means I get an extra day to play in my craft room but I'm also SOOO proud of myself for completing my first shipment of cards for Operation Write Home. I created 12 of this card and sent them a total of 31 cards.

My Natural Beauty card base is Certainly Celery cardstock layered with a strip of paper pierced Kraft and My Minds Eye 29th Street Market patterned paper. Next I wrapped White Grosgrain Ribbon around the card base and tied a bow in front.

The image was stamped in Basic Brown on paper pierced Whisper White using the Natural Beauty stamp set and colored in using Tombow and Stampin' Write Markers. This was layered on to a slightly larger piece of Certainly Celery cardstock and attached to the card base using Scotch Foam Mounting Tape.

To embellish the card I embossed a piece of Cool Caribbean cardstock in my Cuttlebug with the Textile Embossing Folder then punched out two pieces using the Word Window Punch. I folded these in half and attached them to the card base with small White Brads.

Thanks for stopping by... hope you have a purr-fect day!
