Happy 2010

Happy New Year everyone!!!  To help celebrate the New Year I created this card using the free digital stamp from Marina over at The Greeting Farm.

The card base is Brocade Blue cardstock layered with a slightly smaller piece of CTMH Sweet Home patterned paper.  Next I cut a strip of Chocolate Chip cardstock and wrapped Divine Woven Ribbon around the lower end and tied a knot in front before attaching to the card base.

The image was printed on PTI White using my HP Officejet J5780 then colored in using my new copic markers!  Cheers.. to copic markers!!!  What a super fun way to bring in the New Year!!!  The image was layered on to a slightly larger piece of Brocade Blue cardstock and adhered to the card base using Scotch Foam Mounting Tape.

That's it... simple but so-o-o-o-o cute!

Snow Wonderful

With the huge snow storm we had over the weekend we actually ended up celebrating Christmas yesterday so my days seem a little off.  On the bright side though, I was able to spend lots of time in my craft room over the long holiday weekend.  I'm in love with snowmen which means I have a ton of snowman stamps and totally let go of my addiction this past weekend.  That means I'll be posting a lot of snowman cards over the next couple of weeks... here is the first of many more to come.

This card was inspired by the Sketch and Stash Challenge 25.  Some time ago I die cut these huge snowflakes at Archivers and cut one in half to use on this card.  The card base is Chocolate Chip layered with a slightly smaller piece of Whisper White cardstock then Snowfall Ice Blue patterned paper.  Half of the die cut snowflake was adhered on the left side of the card base aligned with the Whisper White cardstock. Next I wrapped Brown Grosgrain Ribbon around the card base and tied a knot in front.

The image was stamped in Chocolate Chip on Whisper White using the Snow Wonderful stamp set and colored in using Baja Breeze ink and a blender pen.  The nose was colored in using the Apricot Appeal Stampin' Write Marker.  I paper pierced the edges of the Whisper White cardstock and layered the image on to a slightly larger piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock before attaching to the card base with Scotch Foam Mounting Tape.

The sentiment was stamped in Chocolate Chip on Whisper White cardstock also using the Snow Wonderful stamp set.  I rounded the corners on one end and punched a small hole to thread the DMC White through.  Using a large sewing needle I then threaded the DMC White through the knot on the Brown Grosgrain Ribbon and tied a bow in front.  To finish off the card I added several Kaiser Rhinestones along the huge snowflake and placed one in each corner of the image.

Deck The Halls

Ho, Ho, Ho...Merry Christmas!!!  We originally had planned to spend the day with my in-laws in the traditional holiday fashion... snacking on yummy food and playing lots of card games but the winter storm we are getting sure changed that in a hurry.  So, we are languishing away at home today watching the beautiful snow fall!!!  We are thinking to go outside this afternoon and see how big of a snowman we can make.  At the moment my husband and the cats are napping so I thought I would pop in and share the Christmas card I sent to the family this year!

The card base is a half sheet of Riding Hood Red cardstock folded in half. I punched the corners of a slightly smaller piece of Starlight patterned paper from the BasicGrey Dasher collection before adhering it to the card base. The shadow layer is a strip of Snowfall Ice Blue patterned paper layered on to a slightly larger piece of Riding Hood Red cardstock.

The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI White using the Fluffles Garland Cling Rubber stamp and was colored in using Tombow N75, 076, Copic R29 and Baja Breeze Ink with a Blender Pen then layered on to a slightly larger piece of Riding Hood Red cardstock. The image was attached to the card base with Scotch Foam Mounting Tape.

To embellish the card I stamped pieces of garland in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI White using the x stamp set then cut them out using paper snips and adhered them to the shadow layer. I added a bow made with dotted red organdy ribbon and to finish off the card I added a small silver brad in each corner of the card base.

Being In The Driver's Seat

This card was created using the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #92. The card is for my nephew's birthday and is traveling all the way to Germany in his honor! Happy Birthday, Eric!!! This summer he stayed with his cousins in North Carolina and while he was there applied for his Learners Permit so I'm hoping this Changito Driver brings back lots of fun memories for him!

The card base is paper pierced Old Olive layered on to a slightly larger piece of Basic Black cardstock. Next I cut out a 3 x 5 1/2 strip of Basic Black cardstock and layered two pieces of Napoleon Marble Green patterned paper, one on each side. The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on paper pierced Whisper White using the Changito Driver Cling Mount Stamp and colored in using Tombow and Stampin Write Markers. I wrapped PTI Rustic Jute Button Twine around the card base twice and taped the ends down. To cover up the ends I attached a button embellished with more Rustic Jute Button Twine.

Let It Snow

I still haven't put my Christmas tree up yet but I have been listening to all Christmas music lately which has put me in the holiday spirit! This week Crazy 4 Challenges inspired us to make a card with snowmen or snowflakes so I created this card with the leftover patterned paper from my Snowballs card. Both the sentiment and image are from the Hero Arts Let It Snow clear design stamp set.

The card base is Soft Sky cardstock layered with a slightly smaller piece of Grind patterned paper. The sentiment was stamped in Chocolate Chip on a strip of Whisper White cardstock. I punched one edge with the Scallop Dot Border Punch before adhering at the bottom of the card base.

The image was stamped in Chocolate Chip on paper pierced Whisper White using the Let It Snow stamp set then colored in using Soft Sky ink and a blender pen. It was then layered on to a slightly larger piece of Soft Sky cardstock. The hat was also stamped in Chocolate Chip on Whisper White cardstock and colored in using Soft Sky ink and a blender pen then cut out and adhered to the image. To finish off the card I added Rhinestones along the scallop border.

A Rose In Winter

Hello again, hope you're having a great weekend! I'm popping in to wish my husband's oldest brother and his wife a Happy Anniversary! Happy Anniversary, Paul and Chia!!! And yes, you've seen this patterned paper a couple times now already!!! Can you tell how much I love it!

Today's card base is paper pierced Angel cardstock. Next I punched the corners of a piece of Kaiser Plush Empress Sophisticated patterned paper (try saying that 10 times real fast!) and layered it on to a slightly larger piece of Gypsy Rose cardstock. In each corner I placed a Pewter Kaiser Pearl then I wrapped dotted organdy ribbon around it before attaching to the Angel card base.

The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on paper pierced Whisper White cardstock using the Hero Arts Special Moments cling mount stamp and was colored in using Tombow and Stampin Write Markers. This was then layered on to a slightly larger piece of Gypsy Rose cardstock. Using a 2-Way Glue Pen I added some (OK, a lot) of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. The image was attached to the card base using Scotch Foam Mounting tape to raise it up a bit and give the card some depth. To finish off the card I added a bow at the base of the flower stem.

A Bouquet Of Tulips

Hi everyone!  Today I'm sharing the card I sent my husband's brother and his wife for their wedding anniversary!  Happy Anniversary, Dave and Annette!!!  The card base is Basic Black layered with a slightly smaller piece of dotted Regal Rose patterned paper from the Stampin Up Patterns Pack II.  Next I layered paper pierced Whisper White on to a slightly larger piece of Basic Black.  I wrapped So Saffron Grosgrain Ribbon around it and tied a knot in front before centering on the card base.

The stem and leaves were stamped in Wild Wasabi on Whisper White using the Bodacious Bouquet stamp set then cut out and arranged on the card base.  The stems were slid underneath the ribbon so they would start at the bottom of the center piece.  The flowers were stamped in So Saffron on Whisper White cardstock also using the Bodacious Bouquet stamp set then cut out and placed at the top of the stem and leaves.  I used mounting tape to attach the flowers so they would be raised up and give the card more depth.  To finish off the card I added some rhinestones at the center of the flowers.

Curious Cat

This month Stamps R Us hosted their first blog group challenge. To gets things started I challenged the group to create a card using Mercy Kerin's Sketch Challenge #50. Here is the card I made using the sketch. The card reminds me of spring and considering we are expecting our first big snow storm of the season here today it makes me feel as though I should be creating winter cards instead!

The card base is a half sheet of Certainly Celery cardstock folded in half. Next I cut a strip of Blush Blossom cardstock and punched it using the Martha Stewart Floral Lace border punch. Over the strip I placed a piece of Petal Patch Designer Series Paper layered on a slightly larger piece of Whisper White cardstock. The next layer is also Petal Patch DSP layered on Whisper White cardstock. Before attaching it though I wrapped Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon around it and tied a knot in front.

The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Whisper White cardstock using the Flower Fluffles stamp and colored in using Stampin Write Markers. Using my Creative Memories Circle Cutting System I cut out the image and a slightly larger piece of Blush Blossom cardstock. To finish off the card I attached two large Chocolate Kaiser Pearls in the upper right corner and several small ones along the lace border.

A Cupcake For You

Hi everyone! Hope your weekend is off to a good start. I'm popping in early because we are headed to my in-laws this morning to celebrate my niece's birthday this weekend! Happy Birthday, Nathalie!!! And this is the card I made for the special occasion! I'm also bringing a few stamping supplies with hoping I will get some time this afternoon to complete the Stamps R Us challenge.

As for today's card details... the card base is Gypsy Rose layered with a slightly smaller piece of Angel cardstock then paper pierced KaiserCraft Plush Empress Sophisticated patterned paper. I cut and paper pierced a strip of Gypsy Rose cardstock then wrapped some dotted organdy ribbon around it and tied a knot in front. The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Whisper White cardstock using the Hello Spring stamp set then punched out using the Small Oval Punch.

The image was also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Whisper White cardstock using the Hello Spring stamp set and colored in using Stampin Write Markers. I punched the corners using the Ticket Corner Punch and layered it onto a slightly larger piece of Angel then added a small Pewter Kaiser Pearl in each corner. Using a 2-Way Glue Pen I added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the cupcake to make it look like frosting.

Lovely In Bloom

I've been feeling low on mojo all week but think it's starting to come back now.  This card was created using the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #73. I love this sketch because the layout is quick and easy yet looks very lovely and elegant!

The card base is Ruby Red layered with a slightly smaller piece of Kraft patterned paper from the Stampin' Up Patterns Pack. Next I cut a strip of Basic Black cardstock and wrapped White Grosgrain Ribbon around it and tied a knot in front. I must say I'm impressed with this knot... they normally don't turn out so well!

The shadow layer is paper pierced Ruby Red cardstock with three small black brads. The image was stamped in Ruby Red on Whisper White using the Garden Silhouettes stamp set and layered onto a slightly larger piece of Basic Black cardstock. The sentiment was also stamped in Basic Black.
