Tea With Flopsey

This is another Flopsey stamp set I picked up at My Favorite Things called Tea With Flopsey. Don't tell my husband but I'm having a love affair with Flopsey (Hee Hee)!!! I'm really proud of my coloring job on this image! It turned out much better than the last one. I figured out more layers of color tend to smooth out the image. Now I need to work on some shading techniques. I goofed up a tad in coloring the coffee cup though... see the pink base... and the orange inside, OOPS! Let's just pretend that Flopsey is drinking Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks today, LOL!

Today's card base is Pinecone layered with a slightly smaller piece of Delilah Stripes patterned paper.  The strip on the left is a one inch strip of Yam layered on to a 1 1/2 strip of Pretty In Pink cardstock trimmed using the Scallop Edge Punch.  The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI White using the Tea With Flopsey stamp set and colored in using Copic Markers.

The image was layered on to a slightly larger piece of Pinecone.  Using my Word Window Punch I cut out two pieces of Yam cardstock, folded them in half, and attached them to the image.  After attaching the image to the card base with mounting tape I added the Kiaser Rhinestones.  To further embellish the card I made a bow using Pink Organdy Ribbon and added a button threaded with DMC White.  I tried using my new Bow Easy for the first time to make this bow but it didn't quite turn out so I will need to watch a video tutorial and practice some more.

Hope you have a fantastic day!

I Miss You

I've been working on this card all week, literally! Can you believe it!  Each morning before work I've tried to spend about 15-20 minutes in my craft room and today I finally have my challenge card ready to post, LOL!!! The layout is from the Stars and Stamps Sketch Challenge #5 and the color combination is inspired by the Stamps R Us Color Challenge which is to use only the colors black, red and white!

My card base is Basic Black layered with a slightly smaller piece of Real Red cardstock which I embossed using my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder to add some texture to the background. The next layer is Basic Black cardstock layered with two pieces of Black Divine patterned paper, one on each side.

The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and Real Red on PTI White using the Heartfelt Thanks stamp set. Of course, I couldn't resist paper piercing around the edges. The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI White using the Say It In Style stamp set and punched out using my large oval punch. I had a really hard time not using mounting tape on this card to add some dimension so I compensated by using Black Kaiser Pearls but they match so well you can hardly see them anyways, LOL!

Hope you have a great day!  Thanks for coming by!

Cute As A Bunny

Hi everyone!  Today's card was created using my new Flopsey Flowers stamp set from My Favorite Things.  This is one stamp set I just couldn't wait to get and play with.  The image was a huge challenge for me to color in though.  I used my new copic markers and have to admit I didn't do too bad this first time but if you look closely you'll see the streaks in his big floppy ears and some along the body and legs, LOL!

My card base is Pinecone layered with a slightly smaller piece of Delilah Pretty patterned paper.  The strip is Pretty In Pink cardstock punched using the Eyelet Border Punch and embellished with Kaiser Rhinestones.  The other edge was finished with Ric Rac Ribbon.  The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI White using the Flopsey Flowers stamp set and colored in using Copic Markers.  I layered it on to a slightly larger piece of Pinecone and attached it to the card base using mounting tape.

The top of the card seemed to have a lot of white space so I punched out two Pretty In Pink corner pieces and shadowed them under the image.  I'm still not a huge fan of this card and would do it differently next time but Flopsey is too adorable to rip apart so it is what you get for today, LOL!  To finish off the card and add a little more sparkle I placed a Kaiser Rhinestone at the center of each flower.

Hope you have a great day!

My Secret Garden

WAHOO, I finally used up all the Flutter Butter patterned paper I've been playing with lately.  I mass produced this quick and easy card for Operation Write Home then sent off another box of cards to the shipper.  I'm so excited to be a fourth of the way towards achieving my goal for this year already, YEAH!!!  And that's not even including the huge stash of holiday cards I'm sitting on from this past holiday season, just waiting for the right time to send them!!!.

The layout for this card is really simple!  My card base is Chocolate Chip layered with a slightly smaller piece of Flutter Butter Burst.  The shadow layer is Chocolate Chip layered with a sligthly smaller piece of Flutter Butter Stripe.  I wrapped Alpine Ribbon around the card base and taped the ends down under the image.

The image was stamped in Chocolate Chip on paper pierced Whisper White using the Floral Symphony stamp set and colored in using Stampin' Write Markers.  It was layered on to a slightly larger piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock and attached to the card base using mounting tape.  To embellish the card a little I added two dew drops in the upper left corner.  That's it, super easy!!!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Two Little Lovebirds

Today's card was inspired by the Stars and Stamps Stash Challenge to use two patterned papers and a button!  I have a huge stash of both patterned paper and buttons but rarely ever use my buttons. Since working with Kathy on this challenge it is all I can think about so I'm sure you will start to see lots more cards with buttons, LOL!

The card base is Pinecone layered with a slightly smaller piece of Delilah Pretty and at the bottom of the card a one inch strip of Delilah Stripe patterned paper. The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI White using my new Love Birds stamp set and colored in using copic markers. I layered it on to a slightly larger piece of Pinecone before attaching to the card base.

For embellishments I added Ric Rac Ribbon at the base of the image and some various size buttons threaded with DMC White. The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI White using my Flirty Phrases stamp set and punched out using the Word Window Punch.

Hope you're having a wonderful day!

Start Your Day With WHEE!

Today I want to share with you a card I made for The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge #43.  I kept the same basic layout as the sketch but turned the card upright and tucked the image under the circle to make it look as though the little girl is swinging beneath an apple tree.  I said apple tree because the green patterned paper makes me think of green apples, LOL!

The card base is Chocolate Chip layered with a slightly smaller piece of Flutter Butter Willow patterned paper.  The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on a 2 1/2 x 4 inch piece of paper pierced PTI White using the Start The Day With WHEE! stamp set and colored in using Stampin' Write Markers then layered on to a slightly larger piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock.  To make the dress I stamped the image on to Flutter Butter Stripe patterned paper, cut out the dress and paper pieced it over the original.

Next I cut out a circle of Flutter Butter Stripe patterned paper using my Standard Circles Small Nestabilities and layered it on to the Chocolate Chip circle cut out using the Classic Scalloped Circles Large Nestabilities.  I wrapped Offray Ribbon around the scalloped edge and taped it on the back side.  I added Gemstones along the scalloped border then layered Bazzill flowers over the strip of ribbon and attached a bow in the center.  To further embellish the card I added a strip of ribbon at the bottom of the card and covered the ends with flower gemstones.

Hope you have a terrific day!

With All My Heart

This card was created for the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #100. I think it is awesome that she is hosting her 100th sketch challenge this week and couldn't resist joining in the celebration. If you haven't noticed yet, I'm loving the Flutter Butter patterned paper collection from BoBunny and have a couple more cards I made with it to share with you yet!

Today's card base is Chocolate Chip layered with a slightly smaller piece of Flutter Butter Willow patterned paper. The 1 1/2" strip of More Mustard cardstock was embossed using the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder. The shadow layer is Flutter Butter Burst cut out using the Standard Circle Small Nestabilities and layered on to a slightly larger circle of Chocolate Chip cardstock cut out using the Standard Circle Large Nestabilities.

The image was stamped in Chocolate Chip on Whisper White using the Floral Symphony stamp set and colored in using Stampin' Write Markers. It was cut and embossed using the Standard Circle Small Nestabilities then layered on to a slightly larger circle of Chocolate Chip cardstock cut out using the Standard Circle Large Nestabilities then attached to the card base using mounting tape.

For embellishments I wrapped the Wired Edge Ribbon around the card base and tied a bow in front. The sentiment was stamped in Chocolate Chip on Whisper White using the Flirty Phrases stamp set and punched out using the Word Window Punch. To finish off the card I added two buttons threaded with DMC White.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Miss You Like Crazy

Today's card was created for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #125. I'm really proud of myself for having completed this before the challenge ends even if it is only by one day, LOL!

The card base is Chocolate Chip cardstock layered with a slightly smaller piece of Flutter Butter Burst patterned paper. The shadow layer is Chocolate Chip layered with Flutter Butter Stripe and Willow patterned paper. The Willow piece was rounded on one end using my Creative Memories Circle Cutting System. The ribbon was wrapped around the Willow patterned paper and taped on the backside.

The sentiment was stamped in Chocolate Chip on Whisper White using the Heartfelt Phrases stamp set then punched out using the Designer Label Punch and tucked under the Willow patterned paper. The image was stamped in Chocolate Chip on Whisper White using the Floral Symphony stamp set and colored in using Stampin' Write Markers. It was cut out and embossed using the Standard Circle Large Nestabilities. I made a beautiful bow with another piece of the wired edge ribbon and attached it at the base of the image using glue dots. To finish off the card I added a Sunflower Dew Drop in each corner of the shadow layer.
Happy Valentine's!!!  Hope you have a sweet day!

Special Moments

Hello everyone!  I'm sitting here all bundled up in my PJ's and housecoat sipping a warm cup of Chai Tea Latte thankful that the sun is coming out again today!  Normally I'd be heading to work about this time but I took a couple days off work to hang out with my hubby!  So far we haven't done much hanging out though.  He is busy laying tile in our entry way and I've been busy as a beaver creating cards in my craft room!  I think today he will be ready to grout though and then I'm stuck at home for 24-48 hours while it dries, LOL!.  Perhaps by Sunday we will be able to get out and go see the movie Dear John for Valentine's Day!!!  Needless to say, by Monday I should have plenty of cards to share with everyone!

Today's card base is Perfect Plum layered with a slightly smaller piece of Peacock Plaid Large patterned paper.  Using my Arch Lattice Punch I trimmed one edge of a strip of Ocean Tides cardstock and placed it along the left side of the card.  The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI White using the Special Moments stamp and colored in using Watercolor Wonder Crayons.  I layered it on a slightly larger piece of Perfect Plum cardstock then wrapped metallic silver wired ribbon around it and made a bow in front.

To embellish the card I added a pearl dew drop in each corner.  I recently discovered dew drops and must say it didn't take very long to fall in love with them.  They rank right up there in my book along with gems, brads and rhinestones.  Must be the theme lately because you'll notice the next several cards all have jewels, brads, rhinetones or dew drops.  Oh well, gotta have some fun, right!

Off to play in my craft room, hope you have a wonderful day!

Pink Pansies

I'm flying through my challenges this week and having lots of fun! My card today was inspired by the Stars and Stamps Sketch Challenge #3. I never know where or what sentiments to use so for this card I swapped out the sentiment and instead added ribbon and a bow. I really wanted to use this pansy stamp but the flowers ended up being a tad too big for the center strip so I shifted them up just a bit and walla!

My Pink Pansies card base is Yam Bazzill layered with a slightly smaller piece of Pretty In Pink cardstock then Delilah patterned paper. The center strip is Yam layered on to a strip of Pretty In Pink I trimmed on both sides using the Scallop Edge Punch. The flowers were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI White using the Pansy stamp and colored in using Copic Markers. I wrapped cream grosgrain ribbon around the card base and tie a bow in front. I just love the shimmer in this cream ribbon!!! And to add a little personal touch to the card I added an acrylic jewel at the center of each pansy!

Thanks for looking!  Hope you have a great day!

Beautiful Kindness

Today's card was created for the Stamps R Us Challenge #3.  Carrie is hosting this month's challenge which is to create a card using only the colors Red, Black and White.  Not just the cardstock and patterned papers but inks and embellishments too.  At first I thought this was going to be really hard for me since I tend to pick images I'm able to color in but once I got going with this card it turned out fabulous... if I may say so myself and I had lots of fun making it!!!  Thank you for bringing me out of my comfort zone, Carrie!!!

My Beautiful Kindness card base is Real Red layered with a slightly smaller piece of PTI White then Basic Black cardstock.  I trimmed the edges of the Basic Black cardstock using a Fiskars Edge Scissors.  I actually made the card starting with the image and selected this scissors because it coordinates perfectly with the edge in the image!

The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI White using my new Key To My Heart stamp set from Close To My Heart.  I picked it up at the 14 hour crop I went to a couple weekends ago.  I then layered it on to a slightly larger piece of Real Red cardstock.  Before attaching the image to the cardbase with mounting tape I wrapped organdy ribbon around it and tied a bow in front.

The beautiful butterflies were also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI White using the Beautiful Kindness stamp set and were colored in using my Copic R29 marker.  To finish off the card I added Clear Acrylic Jewels in each corner.  I'm not sure if clear really counts as Red, Black or White but I begged Carrie to let me use them because I just couldn't picture the card without them!  Isn't Carrie a sweetheart, hugs to you Carrie!!!

Well, that's it for today!  Hope you make it a beautiful one!

Egg-stra Special

I guess I’ll have to be a little more careful what I wish for, LOL!!! We got a couple inches of snow overnight and are expecting another storm on Sunday that is supposed to last into Wednesday now!  Since I’ll be snowed in at home this weekend I’m planning on having lots of fun playing with some new goodies I got.

Today though I have another Easter card to share!!! This is another acrylic stamp set I got from Stamps and Smiles called Egg-stra-special. The image looks like it is all one stamp but is really not which makes it SO much fun to play with! The set comes with several different painted eggs… so the eggabilities are endless.  Get it, possibilities... eggabilities!!! At first I was going to say, “so there is an egg for every occasion” then remembered there are no other holidays that feature eggs, LOL!!!  I should say “there is a NUT for every occasion”, ME!!!

The card base is Yoyo Yellow layered with a slightly smaller piece of Orchid Opulence cardstock then a half sheet of Pastel Plaid Large patterned paper. To save on ribbon I wrapped it around the back and taped the ends in front so they are covered up by the image. The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI White using the Egg-stra-special stamp set and colored in using Stampin' Write and Copic Markers. The sentiment was also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I then layered it on to a slightly larger piece of Yoyo Yellow cardstock and attached it to the card base with mounting tape.

I'd wish you up some snow too but somehow that might not go over so well so instead I'll just wish you a wonderful weekend!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Basketful Of Eggs

Hi everyone!  I think my calendar is a bit off because I fell like I skipped a couple months and didn't even get to pass go, LOL!!!  So I haven't really done anything as far as making Valentine's cards and instead jumped right into making Easter cards!

Today’s card was made using my new acrylic stamps from Stamps and Smiles!  The layout is from The Pink Elephant Challenge #50.  The card base is Orchid Opulence cardstock layered with a slightly smaller piece of Pastel Plaid Large patterned paper.  The shadow layer is a strip of Orchid Opulence cardstock.  I used the Scallop Edge Punch on both sides then layered it with a slightly smaller strip of Yoyo Yellow cardstock.  Before attaching it to the card base I wrapped 5/8" Fresh Snow Grosgrain ribbon around it length wise then tied a knot in front.

The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI White using the Egg Hunt stamp set then colored in using Stampin' Write and Copic Markers.  Using the Classic Ovals Large Nestabilities I cut and embossed the image then layered it on to Orchid Opulence cardstock cut with the Scallop Ovals Large Nestabilities.  To further embellish the card I added a large gold brad in each corner.

Thanks for coming by!
