Happy Halloween

Hi everyone!  Happy Halloween... from our web to yours!!!  I hope you have a super fun day whatever you end up doing!  I'll be hanging out at home doing the usual weekend stuff... laundry, surfing the web, making cards, maybe even running up town for a latte and some coffee cake!  Doesn't that sound YUMMY!!!

Today's card was made from images I actually stamped last year and couldn't part with so I hung on to them to use this year.  My card base is Basic Black layered with a slightly smaller piece of Spider Flocked Patterned Paper.  The big spider web was stamped on PTI White then cut and adhered in the corner.  Those creepy looking spiders are from PSX. They too were stamped on PTI White then cut out to place around the card and on the spider web.  The eyes were colored in using copic YG03.

The seniment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI White using the Web Wishes stamp set from Stampin' Up then cut down to size and layered on to a slightly larger piece of Basic Black before attaching to the card base with mounting tape.  To embellish the card I added two black pearls in the lower left corner.

Thanks for stopping by... I hope you have a purr-fect Halloween!

Witch Tilda On Broom

Happy Saturday!  I'm excited to share another Tilda card with you today!  Today's card features the Witch Tilda On Broom stamp by Magnolia!  I have to admit Tilda is rather addicting and will have to get a few more.  I have a christmas tilda stamp on order along with some pretty red flowers for making holiday cards!  I think I'll need to get some of those 6x6 clear boxes to send them in though!

My card base is Black Bazzill layered with a slightly smaller piece of Flourishes Classic White Cardstock then BoBunny Boo Crew Masquerade patterned paper.  The shadow layer is Creepy patterned paper layered on to a slightly larger piece of Black Bazzill.  I wrapped some black ribbon around the shadow layer and taped the ends down on the back side then added a pretty bow made with the same ribbon on the front.

The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in using copic markers.  I paper pierced around the edges of the image then layered it on to a slightly larger piece of Black Bazzill before attaching to the card base with mounting tape.  The sentiment is from the Spooky Silhouettes stamp set and was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black then cut down to size and layered on to a slightly larger piece of Black Bazzill.  To embellish the card I added some black pearls.

Thanks for stopping by... hope you have a purr-fect day!

Witch For Halloween

Hi everyone! I'm back with yet another Halloween card! Only a few more days to go until Halloween then I'll start thinking about Thanksgiving and Christmas cards, LOL!!! I have a couple cute pumpkin stamps I can't wait to ink up and play with. The Witch For Halloween I used on today's card is a gorgeous digital image I discovered after receiving an email with a link to the A Day For Daisies challenge blog. I'm so fortunate to have so many thoughtful stampers share their treasures with me!

The current challenge over at A Day For Daisies is black out so I tried to use as much black as possible on my card but all I could think of was to use black as my card base and mat layers. So, my card base is Basic Black layered with a slightly smaller piece of Halloween Night patterned paper. The shadow layer is more Halloween Night patterned paper layered on a slightly larger piece of Basic Black cardstock. I wrapped some ribbon around it before attaching to the card base then added a pretty bow to finish it off.

The image was printed on the Copic X-press It Blending Card and colored in using copic markers. I die cut and embossed the image using my Classic Ovals Large Nestabilities. I layered it on Basic Black die cut using the Classic Scalloped Ovals Large Nestabilities then attached it to the card base using mounting tape. To further embellish the card I added two large black pearls in the upper corner.

Thanks for stopping by... hope you have a purr-fect day!

House Of Haunts

Hi everyone!  I actually mailed some Halloween cards off today and am surprised that I have enough cards leftover for next year already!  I still have a couple more images I really want to play with so I'll be adding a few more cards to my stash yet, LOL!!!  Today's card was created with a old but favorite stamp set from Stampin' Up called House Of Haunts.

My card base is Black Bazzill layered with a slightly smaller piece of Pumpkin Pie then distressed Haunted Decor patterned paper from Karen Foster Design.  The shadow layers are distressed Summer Sun and Black Bazzill finished on both sides using the Martha Stewart Spider Web Edge Punch.

The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on distressed Whisper White using the House Of Haunts stamp set and colored in using copic markers.  I actually tried coloring with watercolor crayons first but didn't like the look and colored over it with copic markers.  The image was layered on to a slightly larger piece of Black Bazzill then Pumpkin Pie before attaching to the card base with mounting tape.

The sentment is from the Gina K. Designs Spooky Silhouettes stamp set and was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Whisper White then punched out using the Word Window Punch.  I folded it and wrapped the end around on the backside of the Black Bazzill.  To embellish the card I added two black buttons threaded with DMC White and an orange gem next to the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by... I hope you have a purr-fect day!

Tilda and Pumpkin Pie

Hi everyone! I'm back with another Tilda With Spider Web Halloween card. When I showed my wonderful husband the first halloween Tilda card I made he really liked it and said I should make another one but color it in orange so I immediately went to work coloring another Tilda With Spider Web image. The layout for today's card was inspired by this week's OWH Stars and Stamps Sketch Challenge.

The card base is Pumpkin Pie layered with PTI White then brown cardstock from Creative Memories. The shadow layers are strips of Halloween Night patterned paper from Stampin' Up.  The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI White and colored in using copic markers. I paper pierced and distressed the edges before attaching to the card base with mounting tape. To embellish the card I added two buttons threaded with DMC White.

Hope you have an awesome day!

What's Brewing?

Fall is my favorite time of year not only because I love the bright colors but also because I'm inspired to make lots of holiday cards. Halloween cards are a treat since I get to play with all sorts of creepy images and fun embellishments. Today's Halloween card pairs the Witch Feet digital stamp from Bugaboo Stamps with the Halloween Whimsy Patterned Paper by K&Company. The cute sentiment is from Stamps by Judith.

My card base is Basic Black layered with a slightly smaller piece of Halloween Whimsy patterned paper and a strip of distressed Dark Lovely Lilac cardstock. For the circle I used 1 1/4" Flourishes White on 1 3/8" Deep Orange Dream then Basic Black punched using the Scallop Circle Punch. After assembling the layers I punched holes in the scallops.

The image was printed on Flourishes White and colored in using copic markers. I paper pierced around the edges of the image before layering on to Basic Black and attaching to the card base with mounting tape. The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Flourishes White and cut to fit.  To embellish the card I added a bow and Beetle Black Crushed Velvet Brads in each corner.

Hope you have a fantastic day!

Tilda With Spider Web

Hi everyone! Hope you are having a great week so far! I took the day off work to hang out with my wonderful husband and thought I'd pop in this morning to share my first Tilda card with you! The image is the Tilda With Spider Web stamp from Magnolia and the layout is from the Fairytales Magnolia Ink magazine.

I'm still practicing my shading technique and at the moment seem to do better with highlighting. The face turned out a little peachy because I'm using a little too dark of skin tones. I have some lighter skin tone copics on order and can't wait for them to arrive. I've also been watching some online copic tutorials and practicing every chance I get.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Luna Bitterfrost 'Happy Haunting'

I'm getting a late start today!  We went to a surprise 40th birthday party for a close friend of ours last night and had a blast!!!  They rented a motel suite at a waterpark and we ate and had lots of fun swimming!  I was too chicken to go on the big waterslide since last time I did so I felt like I was drowning so we went on the lazy river and kiddie water slide!

As for today's card, the image I used is the Luna Bitterfrost 'Happy Haunting' digital freebie from Pollycraft! The layout is this week's sketch challenge at Bunny Zoe's Crafts.

For the image I used my new COPIC X-press It Blending Card. I like how smooth the cardstock is but if you blow up the image and look really close at it there are little dots all over the paper. Not sure if this is how it is supposed to be or just a bad sheet of paper so I will try more of it and see what I find.

Hope you have a great day!

Distressed To Scare

Are you ready for the weekend?  I know I am!!!  My husband has been gone for a couple of days helping his father with some chores before he has surgery on his hand next week and I'm really looking forward to seeing him again!  While he is gone though I thought I'd pop in and share this cute halloween card I made.

The image is from Penny Black and a favorite of mine.  That little belly poking out from under the hat makes we want to tickle it.  If you have cats at all you know how well that would go over, LOL!!!

My card base is Basic Black layered with a slightly smaller piece of Deep Orange Dream then Halloween Whimsy patterned paper.  I distressed the edges of the patterned as well as the Perfect Plum shadow layer.  The image was stamped on distressed PTI White using Memento Tuxedo Black then colored in using copic markers.  I layered the image on to a slightly larger piece of Basic Black before attaching to the card base.

To embellish the card I added some ribbon and a bow made with shimmery orange ribbon I got online from Taylored Expressions.  In the center of the bow I added a small black button threaded with DMC White.  I also added two purple rhinestones in the corner of the image.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Marvels of Nature

I've been having lots of fun playing in my craft room and trying out new things lately. This week I tried making some clean and simple monochromatic cards. I also wanted to use up some of my discontinued and rarely used Stampin' Up cardstock in the hopes of making room for some new colors. For today's card I used Sage Shadow and Handsome Hunter, two colors I can't remember the last time I used!

The image is a stamp from Innovative Stamp Creations that I got this summer when I attended the Michelle Zindorf brayering class. For my first card (above) I used Handsome Hunter for the card base and embossed white cardstock using the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder. The shadow layer is distressed Sage Shadow tilted at an angle. I stamped the tree in Sage Shadow on Whisper White, paper pierced the edges then layered it onto a slightly larger piece of Handsome Hunter before attaching to the card base with mounting tape. To embellish the card I added rhinestones in each corner.

For this next card I used Handsome Hunter for the card base and layered it with a slightly smaller piece of Whisper White then Sage Shadow embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder. I also punched the corners with the Ticket Corner Punch and added a small gold brad in each corner. The image was stamped in Sage Shadow on Whisper White. I paper pierced around the edges before layering on to a slightly larger piece of Handsome Hunter.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

  • Stamps: Marvels of Nature III (Innovative Stamp Creations)
  • Paper: Handsome Hunter, Sage Shadow, Whisper White
  • Ink: Sage Shadow

Distressed Lion

Wow, are you in for a treat today! My card was created for this week's Stamps R Us challenge which is to create anything with an all nature theme.  My image is the handsome King Of The Jungle from the Digi Doodle Shop.

The card base is Night Of Navy layered with a slightly smaller piece of PTI White cardstock then a piece of Whisper White distressed with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink using the Wax Paper Resist technique. The strip is a 11/4 piece of distressed Certainly Celery. The image was printed on PTI White and colored in using copic markers.

To create the majestic scene I masked the lion and sponged Certainly Celery and Brocade Blue ink for the grass and sky. I also distressed the edges of the image with the Vintage Photo ink. Next I roughed up the edges of the image and layered it on to a slightly larger piece of Night Of Navy cardstock and attached it to the card base with mounting tape. To embellish the card I added two small copper brads in each corner.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

World Card Making Day

Lonely Without You in Pink Passion
Sentiment from My Balloon (My Favorite Things)

Happy World Card Making Day!!! Hope you are able to spend some time today doing what you love... making cards! Before I head out to do just that I thought I'd share this clean and simple card with you I've been mass producing for Operation Write Home.

My friend Kris made several cards for Operation Write Home for my 1 Year Blogaversary and the layout she used inspired me to make these cards. I loved not only the layout but also the clean and simple design so much that I decided to make more of the same card but with different colors and sentiments.

You Warm My Heart in Marigold Morning
Sentiment from Snowday (My Favorite Things)

Missing You Bunches in Taken With Teal
Sentiment from Flopsey Flowers (My Favorite Things)

You're My Forever Love in Ruby Red
Sentiment from Clearly Sentimental About You (My Favorite Things)

You're So Special in Lavendar Lace
Sentiment from You're So Special (Hero Arts)

I used the main color for the card base then layered a 2 3/4 x 5 1/2 strip of Basic Black cardstock about a half inch from the top.  The image was stamped in the same color as the card base on a 1 1/2 x 2 1/4 piece of Whisper White cardstock.  The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black.

Hope you have a marvelous day!
