White Owl

Hi everyone! I'm really excited to share that I've been invited to be a guest design team member for Doodle Pantry during the month of May. Today is the 5th which means a fun new challenge on the Doodle Pantry Challenge Blog as well as several amazing new release images. There is a cute Mud Piggy, adorable Ducky Duck, Grad Hats to layer over characters, Reel 'Em In for the man in your life and a Noah's Ark for the little one and of course I couldn't resist highlighting this Owl.

Since the owl is mostly white I distressed the edges using Vintage Photo Distress Ink in the hope of making it stand out.  The card base is Bazzill cardstock and the shadow layer Always Artichoke.  The patterned paper is Napoleon Marble Green.  To embellish the card I wrapped DMC White around the shadow layer and added two large chocolate brads near the image as well as a small chocolate brad in each corner of the card base.

Thanks for stopping by... hope you have a purr-fect day!

CREATIVE DESIGN:
  • Stamps: White Owl (Doodle Pantry)
  • Paper: Brown Bazzill, Flourishes White, Napoleon Marble Green Patterned Paper, Always Artichoke
  • Ink: Vintage Photo Distress Ink and Copics T4, T6, Y08, E57, E59
  • Other: Stitching, Small and Medium Chocolate Brads (CTMH), DMC White, Glue Dots and Mounting Tape

I was trying to decide if your owl looked majestic or inquisitive. Maybe a bit of both:) He does however look wonderful in white and encased in the simple masculine frame. Lovely!

Absolutely gorgeous card! I like how you left the owl white and added all the brown tones around him and the deepness of color in the papers you used really make him pop off the card! lovely!
