Kitty Bouquet

Hi everyone! I'm such a HUGE cat lover and this image really tugs at my heart strings. It makes me want to color an image for each of the cats I've had over the years. I've had a black tabby, orange tabby, gray tabby, all black cat with white paws and an all white cat. This image was colored in loving memory of my Tinker who recently passed away! She was a black tabby with brown undertones but I wasn't sure how to do stripes so I used a dark brown.

The gorgeous image is from the Kitty Bouquet stamp set by Doodle Pantry. I paired it with this cute patterned paper from the Deja Views Cat's Life Collection. To embellish the card I added blue organdy ribbon and blue buttons finished with DMC White.

Thanks for stopping by... hope you have a purr-fect day!

Close As A Memory

Hi everyone! It's been a long time since I've created a card using watercolor stamps. The coral, black and white color combination used on today's card were inspired by my spring jacket.  Everytime I wear the jacket I think about creating a card using these colors and have to say I love the look.

The white background was embossed using the Swiss Dots Embossing Folder. The beautiful butterfly is from Verve Stamps and colored in using copic marker R02. To embellish the card I added white lace and some pearls.

Yellow Rose Duo

Hi everyone! This is one of those cards that I'm in love with and will have a really hard time giving away! It combines all my favorite elements... stitching, embossing, die cuts, punches, ribbon and pearls. I've been drooling over this butterfly punch on everyone else's cards and finally got one for myself! The design coordinates beautifully with these Lacey Circles Nestabilities.

The stunning Rose Duo highlighted on today's card is a pre-colored digital stamp from Doodle Pantry. I die cut and embossed the image using Standard Circles Small Nestabilities then layered it on to Basic Black die cut using the Lacey Circles Nestabilities.

The background is Wild Wasabi and Barely Banana embossed using the Victoria Embossing Folder. The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI White. I rounded the corners then tucked it under the ribbon. To embellish the card I added black satin ribbon, butterflies and some pearls.

Mud Piggy

Hi everyone! Is this little mud piggy the cutest thing or what!!! I think he is just adorable and brings a smile to my face every time I look at him. The Mud Piggy is a new release image from Doodle Pantry and comes pre-colored like this one as well as outlined for you to color him yourself.

I had so much fun playing with this cute mud piggy I couldn't resist making a second card.  On both cards I used the digital papers that come with the set.  Here is a close up of the pre-colored image.

To compliment the digital papers I used Brown Bazzill and Cool Carribean cardstock. For embellishments I stitched like crazy, paper pierced around the image, added a strip of ribbon with a matching bow and some chocolate pearls along the image.

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone! Today I have a clean and simple card to share. I'd picked up the Tim Holtz Rosette Dies in a moment of weakness at Archivers over a week ago and just couldn't seem to find a card to use them on so I decided to make a card designed around the rosettes and this is what I came up with. The rosette I'd made for the card kept coming undone though no matter how much glue I adhered so I finally gave up and took the rosette dies back and added this pretty paper flower instead.

Thanks for stopping by... hope you have a purr-fect day!

CREATIVE DESIGN:
  • Stamps: Happy Birthday (Endless Creations)
  • Paper: Riding Hood Red, PTI White, Roses Patterned Paper (Colorbok), Green Cardstock (DCWv)

White Owl

Hi everyone! I'm really excited to share that I've been invited to be a guest design team member for Doodle Pantry during the month of May. Today is the 5th which means a fun new challenge on the Doodle Pantry Challenge Blog as well as several amazing new release images. There is a cute Mud Piggy, adorable Ducky Duck, Grad Hats to layer over characters, Reel 'Em In for the man in your life and a Noah's Ark for the little one and of course I couldn't resist highlighting this Owl.

Since the owl is mostly white I distressed the edges using Vintage Photo Distress Ink in the hope of making it stand out.  The card base is Bazzill cardstock and the shadow layer Always Artichoke.  The patterned paper is Napoleon Marble Green.  To embellish the card I wrapped DMC White around the shadow layer and added two large chocolate brads near the image as well as a small chocolate brad in each corner of the card base.

Thanks for stopping by... hope you have a purr-fect day!

  • Stamps: White Owl (Doodle Pantry)
  • Paper: Brown Bazzill, Flourishes White, Napoleon Marble Green Patterned Paper, Always Artichoke
  • Ink: Vintage Photo Distress Ink and Copics T4, T6, Y08, E57, E59

Peaceful River

Hi everyone! You won't believe this but I have two containers full of landscape stamps that have never been inked up. I got them when I first started stamping and loved the look but had no idea how to color them so they've been sitting on my shelf ever since. Well, a few weeks ago I discovered a stamping blog with the most amazing landscape cards, Vancouver Island Craft Junkie.

Sheree is so sweet and very kind to answer all my questions and inspired me to color this landscape image with my copic markers. I'm so glad she did because I've fallen in love with these stamps all over again and the best part is that one of them has finally seen some ink. Thank you so much for the inspiration Sheree, you are the BEST!!!

The beautiful landscape featured on today's card is the Peaceful River rubber stamp by Northwoods Rubber Stamps. The card was created for my father-in-law's 71st birthday. I paired the image with Handsome Hunter cardstock and honestly have no idea where I got the patterned paper.  To embellish the card I added some Jute Twine and Dew Drops.

Thanks for stopping by... hope you have a purr-fect day!

CREATIVE DESIGN:
  • Stamps: Peaceful River (Northwoods Rubber Stamps)
  • Paper: Handsome Hunter, Kraft, Flourishes Classic White, Patterned Paper

Thank You, Hero

Hi everyone! I'm back again with another patriotic card for this week's OWH Stars & Stamps midweek challenge to create an Anyhero Card. Anyhero Cards include a special thank you message inside for one of the many men and women proudly serving in our nation's armed forces. Operation Write Home also supports our nation's armed forces by sending blank handmade cards for them to write home on.

The sentiment is a digital stamp from OWH Stars & Stamps and was printed on PTI Vintage Cream.  My card base is Night Of Navy layered with a slightly smaller piece of PTI Vintage Cream.  The patterned paper is digital paper from the Freedom Ain't Free digital kit by Summertime Designs.  To bring out the stars in the sentiment and digital paper I punched a small star from Night Of Navy cardstock and attached it below the word YOU in the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by... hope you have a purr-fect day!
