Purple Iris

Hi everyone! I love, love, LOVE this card. The bow so reminds me of a formal black bow tie. The beautiful floral image is the colored Iris digital stamp by Doodle Pantry. The stamp set includes the matching digital paper I used in the background. I wanted to bring out the bold black outline of the Iris and the yellow highlights at the stem of the flower so I paired the digital paper with Basic Black and Summer Sun cardstock.

My card base is Basic Black layered with PTI White then the digital paper and strips of Summer Sun. The shadow layer is Summer Sun layered on Basic Black finished on one side using the Arch Lattice Edge Punch. I stitched around the card base and shadow then as well as paper pierced around the edges of the image. To embellish the card I added a pretty bow made from black satin ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by... hope you have a purr-fect day!

Love You Sentiment

Hi everyone! Today's card was inspired by this week's OWH Stars & Stamps midweek challenge to create a card with a "Love You" theme. I wanted to use another huge sentiment like the Happy Birthday one I recently played with but didn't have one in my stash so I created this "Love You" digital sentiment using Photoshop.

I designed the sentiment so it would be quick and easy to print lots of them for those of you who love to create multiples like me. If you are new to digital sentiments here are some basic instructions to get you started. Copy and paste the sentiment into a new word document then edit the document to view the gridlines. If you right click on the image and select text wrapping then tight you will be able to move the sentiment around the page. Now move the sentiment so the edges of the sentiment fit right up in the upper left corner of the page. Next right click on the sentiment and select copy. Click anywhere in the page then right click and paste. Now align this second sentiment so the edges fit up against the first one and to the edge of the page. Do this again to add a third sentiment down the left hand side of the page and repeat to add three sentiments down the right hand side of the page.

If I explained this very well and your page ended up like mine you should now have 6 of this sentiment on your page. After printing the page out you will be able to quickly cut the sentiments. First cut 4 inches in from each side of the page so you end up with a 1/2 inch strip from the middle to toss. If you want less white space on each side of the sentiment cut another 1/4 inch from each side. To separate the 3 sentiments cut at 3 inch intervals. If you create a project using this sentiment I'd love a peak so be sure to come back and leave a comment with a link to your creation and I'll stop by and leave you some love.

My "Love You" card base is Basic Black layered with PTI White then Deep Love and Ever After patterned paper. I stitched around the edges then added a strip of black knit lace. I paper pierced around the sentiment and layered it on to Basic Black. To embellish the card I added a Primula Kisses Paper Flower layered with a White Paper Flower and finished with a clear gem. I also added two black buttons threaded with DMC White.

Thanks for stopping by... hope you have a purr-fect day!

Outdoor Fun

Hi everyone! It's Wednesday which means a new challenge at The Pixie Cottage. As always, there is a new sketch to spark your creativity and this week's theme is outdoor fun.  I love cats and dogs and this fun Neh, Neh, Neh digital image by Pixie Cottage Stamps  really brings out the best of both personalities.

My card base is Dark Brown cardstock layered with PTI White then Cat Stripes patterned paper. I wanted to bring out a bit of orange so I added photo corners punched from Tangerine Tango. The image was printed on PTI White and colored in using copic markers. I sponged Bordering Blue for the sky and Certainly Celery for the ground then die cut and embossed the image using Labels 17 Nestabilities. I didn't have a sligthly larger die so I cut the Dark Brown mat by hand. To embellish the card I added a dew drop in each corner of the image.

Jessica Graduation

Hi everyone! I did it, I finally finished all my graduation cards!!! There were three I needed for girls so I cheated and made this card for each of them and simply colored the tassel to go with their high school colors. It looks like I used two different patterned papers but it is actually just the front and back side of the same sheet.

The image used on today's card is the Jessica Graduation digital stamp by In Style Stamps.  I paired it with the front and back sides of After Graduation patterned paper by Masterpiece Studios.  To embellish the card I stitched around the edges of the patterned paper, paper pierced around the edges of the image and added a strip of white ric rac lace.

Thanks for stopping by... hope you have a purr-fect day!

I distressed the edges of the PTI White and digital papers with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The sentiment is also from the Little Castle stamp set. Let The Monkey Business Begin

Hi everyone!  I needed five graduation cards this year and two of them are for my nephew's so I decided to create another card using this fun monkey graduation image.  To make things quick and ease I used the same supplies as I did on my last monkey graduation card but changed the layout and added the congratulations sentiment.

The image featured on today's card is the Let The Monkey Business Begin digital stamp by Pixie Cottage Stamps.  I paired it with some patterned paper from Close To My Heart.  Since I needed this to be a masculine card I kept the embellishments simple and just added a strip of organdy ribbon and photo corners finished with small antique gold brads.
