Tall Oaks by Verve Stamps

Hi my crafty friends! We celebrated thanksgiving with the family this past weekend and are still eating leftovers. It's been ages since I made the family holiday cards and really enjoyed doing so again this year.

The pumpkins are from the Tall Oats stamp set by Verve Stamps. I colored the pumpkins using copic markers YOO, YR21, YR23, YR27 and the ground G82, G85. The patterned papers are scraps from various fall collections I've used over the years. To embellish the card I added some burlap, green grosgrain ribbon and sequins.

Watercolor Flower

Hi my crafty friends! Today I've a gorgeous floral card to share. I have this stash of textured papers I got eons ago at a craft show and dug them out to use on this card.  The image is embossed using VersaMark ink and white embossing powder then colored in using watercolors.

Over the raspberry card base I layered vellum and purple textured paper. It's hard to tell in the photo but the purple textured paper has raspberry bits in it. To embellish the card I added some white lace and raspberry buttons finished with white thread.

Crazy Cat Texture Paste

Hello again! I've been busy lately opening all the packages from the SCS falliday fest card drive. I love all the cards and am sure the shelter will too! A huge thank you to everyone who sent cards for the card drive, you're the very best!!!

On today's card I finally got a chance to play with some texture paste. For my first time using the paste I didn't add any color, I just used it as it is. Over the texture paste I layered some scrap patterned paper.  The image was inked using jet black archival ink and colored in using distress inks. On the cat I used spun sugar and picked raspberry.  I used salty ocean for the eyes and background.

CAS(E) this Sketch #197

Hi my crafty friends!  I want to thank the design team at CTS for the honorable mention for the card I entered in last week's sketch challenge.  A HUGE thank you to the team for making pet themed cards and dedicating the challenge as CAS(E) for a cause.

Today I'm back playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #197.  I think this sparkly paw print patterned paper is too awesome to cover up so is perfect for this week's sketch challenge.  The sentiment was stamped in memento tuxedo black and is from the cat-itude stamp set by MFT.

I die cut a small dog in coordinating cardstock and adhered it in the corner.

That's it for today.  Hope you have a great week!

Crazy Cat Wrinkled

Hi everyone! I'm loving playing with my new distress inks. On this card I inked up one of the images from the Crazy Cats stamp set using jet black ranger archival ink. I find that the ranger ink doesn't bleed when watercoloring.

To color the image I used spun sugar and picked raspberry on the cat, salty ocean for the cat's eye, vintage photo on the ground and very diluted salty ocean for the sky.

I had a scrap piece of white paper already crinkled so I tore one of the corners off and used that for the background.  I received a box of various patterned papers from the local animal shelter to use to make them some cards.  The pink strip I layered over the white cardstock is from that box of patterned papers.  I toe one of the edges and folded back the pieces to add some texture to it.  To embellish the card I added some sequins down the side.

Patriotic Thank You

I made this patriotic thank you card for the SCS falliday fest Operation Quiet Comfort card drive.  I wish I'd had more time to play along in more of the challenges.  Note to self... take a week off work next year for falliday fest.

This card drive is special because it reminds me of my nephew who joined the marines last week.  I'm going to make another patriotic thank you card to give him when he graduates from basics.

The American flag is a wood mounted rubber stamp by The Stamping Bug.  I used Barn Door and Salty Ocean distress ink for the flag and Walnut Stain for the thank sentiment.  To align the thank you sentiment I used the MISTI.

Thanks for stopping by... hope you have a purr-fect day!
